The Recon Group Process Model: 

The Recon Group offers a safe and structured Christ-centered environment that is meant to explore areas that are keeping men and woman from realizing their full potential in all of their relationships.  The approach consists of a set of workbooks and a weekly meeting that take the participant on a path similar to that of Elijah from a point of despair or desperation in a given situation or relationship to a meeting with God on the mountain to finally ringing forth with power God’s purpose for that person.  The path is presented across a base of seven areas of progress which are: 

1. I am Not God – trying to play God is the primary driver behind our fears and insecurities, and ultimately behind our failures.  Realizing that we have no control or power in regards to outcomes is the first stage of this process.

2. Surrender to Win – we may sense that we lose the power in the first phase but here is where we gain our strength by exploring all areas and facets of our lives where we take action but leave the outcomes in the most capable hands of God.

3. Everyone needs a savior (and I’m not it) – this is the phase where we conduct with the help of a Sponsor and the Holy Spirit a fearless self-examination.  It is only after seeing how much grace has been extended to us that we can extend grace to others.

4. We must put on the eyes and take on the image of Christ – this is where we take a look at our current behaviors and defects and begin to remap them to those of Christ.  This is also the part in the process where we begin, through prayer and meditation to view others in a new way…with the eyes of Christ.

5. What on Earth am I Here for- here we present a daily practical program for connecting with God, hearing His voice, and discerning His will and purpose for us.  This is also where we build infrastructures which are eternal, and explore spiritual gifts.

6. The Truth is Not the Sum of All Known Facts – an in-depth look at the promises of God.  A final examination of obedience, its purpose and where the participant maps.

7. Taking It to The Streets - Action plans and key points of grounding to serve as Ambassadors for Christ in family, work, and community settings.
